Tampa, Fla.-based Accusoft a provider of document, content and imaging solutions, announced on November 1 the release of Prizm Content Connect v6, an HTML5-based content viewer with annotation, redaction controls, and thumbnail displays.
The new HTML5 Viewer relies on web-browser functionality and does not require any plug-ins, according to the company. The Prizm Content Connect viewer eliminates the need to open third-party applications to view and redact documents. It also limits security risks from the use of third-party browser plug-ins and provides IT administrations the flexibility to choose the web browser for their users' needs.
The viewer release also improves the Prizm Content Connect Flash viewer, Proxy Server, and the SharePoint viewer, as well as EMC Documentum. The viewer works alongside Webtop,
Centerstage or Taskspace to provide unified document viewing for any
file type in the Documentum platform.
Viewer improvements aim to give users better response time when paging through large files as they are loading. Additionally, enhancements have been made for the support of many popular formats, such as CAD drawings and PDF documents.
