Rocket Matter Now Supports Customized Invoicing

Rocket Matter, the legal practice management and time and billing software as a service, now supports customizable invoicing that allows lawyers to design their own invoices using Microsoft Word.

The cloud-based practice management suite aims to make billing and the collection process personalized and effect for their customers. Rocket Matter "recognize[s] that invoices are often a primary communication channel between law firms and their clients," says Larry Port, the company's CEO and co-founder. Lawyers can now design any style of invoice using Word that not only allows unique branding, such as a logo or letterhead, but also the ability to add or remove billing sections, reorganize or reorder data columns, and print addresses to use with standard windowed envelopes.

The new custom invoicing in Rocket Matter also offers users the ability to get creative with pictures and rename invoice sections, which the company hopes will result in a more polished and personalized bill. In tandem with existing document and calendar management capabilities, the improved billing feature is designed to dramatically simplify workflow because Rocket Matter is web-based where legal professionals can generate their custom invoices from any internet-capable device.

EDGAR Online Receives Patent for XBRL Notes in Financial Statements

EDGAR Online, a provider of eXtensible Business Reporting Language software, services and data, has been granted U.S. Patent 7,917,841 entitled "System and Method for Rendering Data" on March 29, 2011. The patent covers the semantic analysis of notes to financial statements and the association of those notes to related items in a primary financial statement.

U.S. Patent 7,917,841 documents EDGAR Online's method for allowing the categorization and cross-referencing of data in financial documents by analyzing notes to financial statements and presenting the information in a concise format. Analysts and investors currently see the benefits of this method within EDGAR Online's I-Metrix suite of products, a range of online solutions that provide accurate company information and detailed XBRL-tagged financials for the more than 12,000 companies that file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

kCura Relativity Gets New Production Controls

kCura released the new version 6.10 of Relativity, an e-discovery review platform. New features include production controls to configure image resolution (dots per inch), image size, and the ability to create color images inside the platform.

Relativity 6.10 now supports the ability to save a workflow around a conceptual search as a template and reuse it for another index in the same matter or work space, or in another work space.
