GOOD NIGHT, SWEET FRIEND
Our ALM family lost one of our favorites, when Jim Giordano lost his valiant fight against cancer Saturday.
Describing Jim requires a whole box of adjectives: kind, funny, smart, sweet, dedicated, talented, patient, big-hearted, generous, optimistic, cheerful, enthusiastic, tolerant, insightful, considerate, thoughtful .... etc. etc. etc. He was our midwest display advertising rep, and he and I often visited vendors together, to learn about their products and services. He was the best possible companion for these journeys.
Jim humored my passion for the NY Yankees -- and the two of us conspired together to do our first ALM "group game" in 2004 -- to see the Yankees play the Twins at the Dome in Minneapolis. That game started a tradition that has continued ever since. It's a chance for us to get together with the MSP legal tech community, including vendors, edit board members, CIOs, etc., and everybody has a blast. Jim particularly enjoyed the fact that the Twins managed to slaughter the Yankees, every single year, at our group game.
On April 10th, when I head back to the Dome for the 4th annual TwinsFest, I'm going to toast Jim. And if when the Twins win, as I'm sure they will, I'll just look up to the stars and smile, because they will be sparkling even brighter with Jim's laughter.
