KICK OFF

The Cowen Group held a delightful kick off dinner at Los Angeles' The Palm last night, drawing a terrific group -- mostly litigation support executives -- including Law Technology News board members Betsy Reynolds (right)(Manatt), Tom Baldwin (Sheppard Mullin), and new board member Linda Alele (O'Melveny) (right below, with Law.com's David Snow).

Over steaks and lobsters, and amazing key lime pie, a lively dinner discussion covered the range of predictable and unpredictable topics (from billing for non-lawyer time to listing execs on firm websites to instant messaging protocols). Lots of topic ideas for future articles in LTN and Law Firm Inc.

Kudos to host David Cowen for bringing together such interesting and spirited folks, who also included Bil Kellerman (CT Summation); and consultant Dennis Kennedy (above left); John Tisch (Gibson Dunn); Thad Hymel (McGlinchey) (who will join me today on our Disaster Recovery panel); Joy Murao (Latham) (left, with Greg Chan (Kirkland & Ellis); and about a dozen other attendees.
