Journalist/lawyer/Yankees fanatic.
Monica Bay is editor-in-chief of Law Technology News, and a rabid New York Yankees fan.
She has won journalism awards from American Business Media (finalist in the 2005 Neal competition), the Trade Association Business Publications International, the American Society of Business Publications Editors, the American Bar Association, Technolawyer, the Associated Press, and Sigma Delta Chi.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Bay worked as a print and broadcast journalist, covering the arts (mostly rock and roll) and law, before attending the University of San Francisco Law School. Admitted to the California Bar, she was a civil litigator for about two years before joining ALM's San Francisco office in 1985. She held a variety of posts, including senior editor at The Recorder newspaper and with Counsel Connect (the predecessor to law.com). In her spare time she sang with Luciano Pavarotti and helped The Late Show with David Letterman establish its first website (then on AOL).
She had absolutely no interest in baseball until she moved to NYC in 1998. She lives in Manhattan and Lakeville, Conn.
