Monica Bay is editor-in-chief of ALM's Law Technology News magazine. She also is the author of The Common Scold blog, manager of the EDD Update blog, and hosts the Law Technology Now podcast.
Ms. Bay worked as a print and broadcast journalist, covering the music and law, before attending the University of San Francisco Law School. A member of the California Bar, she was a civil litigator for two years before joining ALM's San Francisco office in 1985. She held a variety of posts, including senior editor at The Recorder newspaper and with Counsel Connect (Law.com). In her spare time she sang with Luciano Pavarotti and helped The Late Show with David Letterman establish its first website on America Online.
She moved to New York in 1998 to edit LTN. Her team has won 49 journalism awards, from American Business Media, the American Society of Business Publications Editors, the Trade Association Business Publications International, the American Bar Association, GD USA, and other competitions. She has also won awards from the Associated Press and Sigma Delta Chi.
She is a rabid New York Yankee fan, and lives in Manhattan and Lakeville, Conn.
